But if the other person is worthy of your love at all, they won't pull back that bowstring. This doesn't seem like a good metaphor for love to me. If she pulled on the bow and he kept stepping forward to keep the string relaxed, that would be harmonious. If he dropped the arrow and walked away, that would be a normal rejection/break-up. But this way it looks pretty twisted, a kind of self-destructive love for someone who's not good for you, who uses your vulnerability against you.
